And here comes Spring! As the weather warms up it always feels like it's time to come out of hibernation and move more in general. If
you are wanting to increase your general level of activity and fitness and don't know where to start we are here to help !
It's common to start out at the gym or taking up a new sport or activity and ended up injured and unable to proceed with your good
intentions (particularly if you are older and haven't moved a lot in months or years).
We know that exercise and movement staves off many diseases such as osteoporosis, dementia, anxiety and depressoin, arthrits, chronic pain and more. We all need to move more and move well. As movement experts Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists are a great place to start moving more and doing it safely .
We have a great special offer on this month to get you started and to make sure you can reach your movement goals
See below for the details of our SPRING INTO PILATES OFFER.
We had a busy month in August with our ongoing mentoring and in-house training covering foot and lower limb biomechanics, fitting or formthotics, hip pathology and treatment, reviewing dry needling techniques and more. We meet twice a week every week to upskill, share knowledge and make sure we deliver the best possible care to our patients.
This month we shine a light on mental Health and how we can support those struggling. RUOK day is on the 12th September - the message this year we should ask "RUOK" everyday cause life happens everyday !
The simple act of checking in on someone can save a life and make all the difference to someone struggling with mental health issues. We can't ask too often ! Jules x
SAVE AND START PILATES THIS MONTH - WE HAVE TAKEN 50% OFF THE FIRST THREE HOURS YOU ARE REQUIRED TO DO TO START CLINICAL PILATES AT REVIVE !
SCOLICARE COURSE
Kara, Steph, Liv and Claudia all attended a course run by Scolicare last weekend. The course covered a review of current evidence based assessment and treatment for scoliosis and was a chance to update our team on best care for people with scoliosis. As school screenings are no longer a thing - many young girls with scoliosis are not being picked up early enough to have the best chance of conservative management being successful and avoiding surgery. We always have a "gap free" scoliosis check for kids at the clinic. Girls shoud be routinely checked in Grades 5 and 7.
